Mis Canciones (5): Led Zeppelin - Fool in the rain

Led Zeppelin fueron grandes. Fueron enormes. Y John Bonham lo fue aún más. Cuando yo empecé a tocar la bateria, tuve la suerte de que, al apuntarme mis padres en "la banda de música", pues me daba alguna clase práctica un "hippie". O así lo llamaba mi madre. Pues gracias a ese hippie me supe de memoria los nombres de los grandes "drummers" (baterias) de las grandes bandas: El mítico Ringo Starr de The Beatles, Phil Rudd de AC/DC, el enorme Keith Moon de The Who, o el "entrañable" ídolo de los niños-baterías John Henry 'Bonzo' Bonham.

Mi profe (si, el "hippie") me decia siempre que Bonzo fue el más grande, el que mejor técnica tenia, el más rápido y el unico drummer que debia tener como ídolo. Eso si, siempre detrás de una bateria. Como persona, Bonham no fue un modelo muy a seguir, la verdad. Murió a los 32 añitos al quedarse dormido boca arriba después de una borrachera y ahogarse en su propio vómito...

Algo que demuestra una cosa: que por muy genio que seas, por muy avanzado a tu tiempo que estés siendo capaz de dejar tu huella en el panorama musical para la historia... puedes acabar muerto de una forma totalmente humillante.
-"No, si innovó la forma de tocar la batería, dándole protagonismo al instrumento en los posteriores grupos de rock!"
-"Si, pero se ahogó en su propio charco de vómitos"
Reputación de Bonzo en el Hall Of Fame de la música: Cae 17 puestos...

Y éste es un video donde no sólo el bueno de Bonham demuestra su genio con las baquetas, sino donde toda la banda nos regalan uno de los temas que cuanto más oigo, más hace que me sienta tentado de dejarme el pelo largo, patilla y bigotes e ir con una tira de colores en la frente, a lo setentero. Como aquél profe hippie...
